Sometimes it takes a lot of courage...

Sometimes a great deal of passion and determination...

Whatever it is that hinders you to have the things in life you most want to achieve, don't let it stop you... always remember what Vince Lombardi once said, "T

The rose is an absolutely amazing flower. Whatever its color the flower itself is a vision of absolute fragility and delicate grace. The rose is also an extraordinary flower in that it has so many shades, some natural, and some man made. But each shade has a meaning of its own. Have you ever wondered what the meaning of blue roses could be?

The blue rose does not occur in nature, at least not the absolute blue rose. Blue roses were at first created by dyeing white roses. Some people mistake lavender roses for blue ones. So, the closest we can get to blue roses are the lilac to almost black category. Roses lack the pigment that produces blue color. The blue rose has been painstakingly created and imbued with a special meaning.

Much like its mysterious origin, the blue rose means mystery. An appreciation for the enigmatic, the inexplicable is expressed by the blue rose. A tantalizing vision that cannot be totally pinned down, a mystery that cannot be fully unraveled is the blue rose. A person who receives the blue rose is the subject of much speculation and thought. A complex personality that does not allow easy interpretation is what the blue rose indicates.

Another meaning of the blue rose is that it symbolizes the impossible, or the unattainable. Since the blue rose itself is a rarity in nature, it stands for something that is hardly within one's grasp, an object that seems too difficult to be achieved. Thus the blue rose is admired and revered as an unrealizable dream.

The blue rose being in itself something very extraordinary expresses that very same feeling. "You are extraordinarily wonderful", the blue rose exclaims. A truly wonderful personality, almost chimera-like is what the blue rose says about the receiver. A flight of fancy, an irrepressible imagination is what the blue rose is all about.

Blue and its deeper shade purple have for long symbolized mystery and ambiguity. Again, the fact that the blue rose is a flower that has been fabricated increases this sense of surrealism. The meaning of the blue rose in this sense is an appreciation for something that cannot be grasped in full measure.

The lighter shade of the blue rose, which is almost akin to lilac, expresses the first flush of love. Enchantment, a feeling of being completely bowled over in the very first instance is another delightful meaning of the blue rose. Lavender and lilac have both been associated with romance since time immemorial.

The blue rose is also used as a symbol of caution. It expresses a need to be discrete. Again, there is a whiff of secrecy and mystery as expressed by the blue color.

New opportunities and new possibilities are also some other meanings of the blue rose. The blue rose denotes the excitement and the possibilities that new ventures bring. The mysterious beginnings of new things and the excitement therein are very nicely expressed by this flower.

The blue rose is a flower that seeks to convey a message of mystery, enchantment and a sense of the impossible. One should never forget that as a flower that is not found freely in nature, the blue rose has a certain charm and unique mystery that does not reveal itself freely.

I gave one earlier...

The Silence is Deafening; jogging... dead animal on the street.. I am tone deaf, Tanduay Ice

I went out jogging this morning, while sprinting through a familiar path, I saw the old corner where I used to wait for my school service every morning during my grade school days, brings back good childhood memories. Not too far, after 10 minutes, I saw the gate of my destination, the church. As always, I went inside and prayed for all the blessings... of course for incessant guidance for the next days to come. Making my way out to start running again, I recognized that quite a few shown up today... same faces.. maybe I just came late again because I play basketball at home before I run. Its already 7am when I decided to run toward the nearest Ministop to eat breakfast. On my way, I saw something that changed my mood and completely destroyed my morning... one of my pet peeves, a dead cat on the street... it never fails, I really hate to see a dead animal on the street, its just, haaays anyway... finally I arrived but I totally lose my appetite for breakfast, so I just took a rest and listened to the radio. Its the morning radio program of the comic duo on air, the topic was all about job interviews, I remember them talking about an applicant for OJT in their radio station, funny because the aspiring trainee presented an eight-page resume, the content? he added on his resume that he played a big part in "Ibong Adarna" during their college days as part of his credentials, including the whole synopsis! hilarious.

Then my first job interview dwelled upon my thoughts. Its with the same company where Im working currently. The set up; ten applicants in one room, one interviewer her name is "Kai" if my memory serves me right, forum type of discussion, everyone was free to fire a question if you feel like asking one. You just have to introduce yourself and share something very interesting about you. Sounds simple right? but the challenge was how to beat nine souls or appear more deserving to pass the initial interview than anyone else. One applicant boasted about his tattoos, another one was a single mother of two, I will never forget the "Mumbaki guy", he told us that he was part of the film "Mumbaki" starring Raymart Santiago, shot in Kalinga, he played the role of the kid, Raymart's son in the movie, funny fellow. A friendof mine spoke about his phobia, he's really afraid of dogs, one of us was a very tough contender, the experienced hopeful, a call center agent from another company, trying to find a new home. My time to shine punched the clock; right then and there, its my turn. Im not sure how to pull this up or how to start my act, I set out by introducing myself to them, luckily, Kai is from Parañaque, souped up the substance of my dearthy talk. (wait... a song by the beatles that i really love is playing now over the playlist, i cant concentrate =p)
Scrounging around for the right amount of confidence, I told the panel that I am a former vocalist of a band, three of my friends started to stare at me with a slight of grin in their faces, because I never told them about it in the first place.. one of them whispered to me "Are you serious? panindigan mo yan" ... I knew what was coming up, a talent portion! I AM NERVOUS, it felt like I am more comfortable being on stage for a crowd than performing in front of ten people. I do admit that I am not a good singer, but at least I could carry a tune, as a matter of fact I AM TONE DEAF... not that acute type but I can consider it as a mild tone deafness, coz if you will google it, its a deficiency. But what's happening with me is that musicwise, I have a hard time recognizing pitch or a tone, so you can compare me to an instrument that should be adjusted first before you play it, sometimes Im flat, sometimes sharp... me without formal training, no wonder why haha.. at least Im doing what I love to do. So for those who love to sing and perform, just continue your passion even if others are telling you that its not for you, just sing your heart out, I am tone deaf pero pede parin. The room was covered with silence, the silence is deafening, waiting for something to hear, I inhaled a certain amount of air and released it along with a sound, a melody from my fidgety body, rousing the beginning of a song. Im singing with my eyes closed.. Im singing Urbandub's "Endless, a Silent Whisper". The moment I finished the Chorus part I stopped, because I cant here anything, I opened my eyes and everyone in the room was restrained, I heard hands clapping, I was not even sure if I did a great job or if i screwed up the whole thing. "You're brilliant, really good, ear-friendly" said Kai, questions began to fill the air, can you rap? bob marley please! bakit hindi mo sinabi samin na... ? can you sing another one? and that's the story of my first job interview, singing would probably be the last or the least thing on my mind to do in an interview, very odd, but i did nail it!, I passed along with four applicants, half of the group ended their journey, its like American Idol, the only thing I dont have that day was the Golden ticket and the "welcome to hollywood! greeting" =p. We were asked to come back the next day for the prospeak and final interview, but i didnt show up, because im not really interested for the position, I just want to experience how to apply for a job. Few days later, I started teaching English to Korean students for a month, good times... After that, I went back to apply again to the same company, went through the whole process and was hired, guess what? Kai remembered me haha, and that was it... I never really regret that I did not show up the next day the first time I passed the first interview, Im happy about the way my life took course after all. Maybe if i passed the whole thing the first time, I would have not met my dear students, maybe im not with my everloving teamates now, , maybe I dont belong to the number one team today. Hindi ko siguro nakilala si...haha so much for this post haha, I just wanna grab one bottle of Tanduay Ice and start the DVD marathon. thanks for reading! God bless everyone! :)

..... Nothing's gonna change my world

Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup
They slither while they pass
They slip away across the universe
Pools of sorrow waves of joy are drifting thorough my open mind
Possessing and caressing me
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Images of broken light which dance before me like a million eyes
That call me on and on across the universe
Thoughts meander like a restless wind inside a letter box
they tumble blindly as they make their way across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Sounds of laughter shades of life are ringing through my open ears
exciting and inviting me
Limitless undying love which shines around me like a million suns
It calls me on and on across the universe
Jai guru deva om
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Nothing's gonna change my world
Jai guru deva Jai guru deva
